Wildlife conservation in NSW State forests
We manage one of the most sustainable resources in the world, balancing society's needs for products and services, such as timber and recreational opportunities, with the needs of forest ecosystems.
Forests are dynamic and diverse and are home to a vast variety of native plants and animals. Over half of NSW State forests are permanently protected for conservation and we work under strict rules and regulations to selectively harvest timber from the available areas.
