Campfires in NSW State forests
When visiting NSW State Forests, it’s essential to know the rules around campfires.
During the fire threat period solid fuel fires, like wood or charcoal, are banned to prevent accidental wildfires.
If fires are allowed, keep them small—under one square metre—and at least 4.5 meters from trees.
Clear the area of flammable materials within two meters, and never leave a fire unattended.
Always extinguish completely with water (not dirt) before you leave.
Before you head out on your trip, make sure to check the Forestry Corporation and Rural Fire Service websites for fire restrictions and help keep our forests safe for everyone.
