Trail bike riding in NSW State forests
Trail bike riding is a great way to get out and explore State forests.
Trail bikes are welcome in all State forests except Cumberland and Strickland. But before you start your bike, there are a few simple rules you need to follow.
- Firstly, all bikes must be registered and all riders must be licenced - no licence, no rego, no ride.
- Make sure you wear safety equipment and protective clothing.
- Riders also need to stick to formed roads and fire trails only – this means no bush bashing or single track riding.
- Also please remember that forest roads have a speed limit of 60 kilometres per hour unless otherwise signposted.
- You might be sharing the road with horses, trucks or heavy vehicles, so take care and drive to the conditions.
