Forestry Corporation of NSW complies with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 2022 (NSW) including the NSW Information Protection Principles and, in limited circumstances, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2022 (NSW).
We understand and respect your personal information is important to you and we are committed to maintaining your privacy. Our Privacy Policy provides information on how we collect and manage personal information.
We will only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for its dealings with relevant individuals and for the purpose specified or which is reasonably apparent at the time the information is collected.
We will take reasonable steps to protect any personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We use attended, remotely operated and unattended surveillance devices in State forests and land owned or managed by Forestry Corporation. We may also use surveillance devices on other public land, in line with legal requirements, policy and procedures. Surveillance devices may also be used by contractors in State forests and land owned or managed by the Corporation and by other authorities. The devices may be used for a range of purposes, including but not limited to:
- legitimate business activity or function of the organisation
- law enforcement
- forest management including ecology monitoring and research
- fire detection and management
- visitor safety.
A notice will be posted in areas where surveillance is actively undertaken. Forestry Corporation will not install surveillance devices on private property without prior consent of the property owner.
Personal information collected in Electronic Docketing App (Edx), LogStock App (LSX) and other productivity apps
Forestry Corporation collects personal information through Edx, LSX and other productivity apps for enterprise use only. We primarily collect personal information through these systems to enable us to track forest harvest activities. Personal information is collected and used in the course of our normal business operations and activities including to track dockets, for billing and to contact you.
Before you can use Edx app for the first time, we will ask you to choose whether to allow Edx access to your location and in what circumstances. Location services must be enabled for the app to be operational. We may collect device metadata to ensure any issue raised can be tracked back.
We are committed to ensuring your information is secure. Data is pulled from the cloud and secured with Mobile Device Management (MDM).
