Belanglo and Penrose State Forests have been closed due to serious concerns for visitor safety.

Hazardous road conditions, created by vehicles using roads during wet weather, forced this closure.

Restoration work has commenced however it is extensive and weather-dependent. Visitors can access the designated camp areas via the advised routes.

Low impact recreational activities (non-vehicle) are permitted in the closed forest. Locally Wingello State Forest has partially reopened and is an option for vehicle recreational activities. Observe all signage and please visit sustainably.

A 400m area off Paddys River Road will remain open for camping.

Access only via Penrose Forest Way. Nearest facilities are located at Kingsbury VC rest area.

Visitors may park safety off Penrose Forest Way.
