Description | Forest users please note that a 50-metre lattice tower and equipment shelter is being installed in Kindra State Forest as part of the NSW Government’s Critical Communications Enhancement Program. This work will expand and enhance the public safety network in the Coolamon area. The network provides critical, secure and reliable radio communications for emergency service organisations and first responders, including the NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire and Rescue NSW. The work will be carried out in the Kindra State Forest area adjacent to Lewis Street as shown on the project factsheet. Please take note of any signage and follow any direction from staff and contractors. Construction is estimated to take 8-12 weeks to complete. Read more in the project factsheet here. An exclusive use area is being enforced to ensure forest visitors and construction personnel are both kept safe during the construction period. A map of the exclusive use area can be found here. The exclusive use area does not restrict the use of existing mountain bike trails. Entry into exclusive use areas without the permission of Forestry Corporation is prohibited and can lead to prosecution (maximum penalty $2,200 per offence). |
