Description | Forestry Corporation of NSW, farmers and Local Land Services are working together to protect our wildlife and livestock from the impact of wild dogs and foxes. A control program targeting wild dogs and foxes will be undertaken between early May 2024 and late June/early July 2024. The program will involve ground and aerial baiting using fresh meat injected with 1080. Baits will be delivered from a helicopter along pre-determined baiting lines over public and private land. Baiting is also planned on National Parks land using both helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. Baits will only be laid on State forests and private properties where consent to bait has been received. Important: 1080 baits pose a high risk to domestic pets and working dogs. Ensure domestic pets and working dogs are restrained/muzzled and do not enter the baiting location during baiting operations. In the event of accidental poisoning, seek immediate veterinary assistance. Read more about sodium fluoroacetate/1080 baits. Baiting is planned in the following State forests:
