Guided bird watching walks are on again this February at Cumberland State Forest, led by experienced bird watchers from the Cumberland Bird Observers Club.

Forestry Corporation of NSW’s Senior Ranger Tim Liston said the walks were a perfect excuse to get the family up and out of the house early on a Sunday.

“The Cumberland Bird Observers Club’s Sunday morning walks through the forest are an ideal introduction to the forest and our local birdlife,” Mr Liston said.

“We have an amazing array of native birdlife in the forest and the eagle-eyed bird watchers from the Cumberland Bird Observers Club make bird watching a great day out for everyone from first-timers to bird watching enthusiasts.

“The walk is followed by a barbecue breakfast, making it a great morning treat for the whole family.”

What: Early Bird Brekky bird watching walks. An experienced bird watcher from the Cumberland Bird Observers’ Club will show you the fantastic diversity of bird life in the forest. Finish with a barbecue breakfast of bacon and eggs.

When: Sunday 10, 17 and 24 February, 8.30 – 10.30 am

Where: Cumberland State Forest, 95 Castle Hill Road, West Pennant Hills (30 minutes from the CBD on the M2, exit at Pennant Hills Road)
