Kalateenee State Forest MTB trails
Mountain biking in Kalateenee State Forest
Kalateenee Mountain Bike Trails feature a network of 25-30 km of trails, maintained by Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers Club within Kalateenee State Forest near Kempsey, NSW.
The main trail head is easily accessed from the Kempsey Golf Club carpark, off Macleay Valley Way. Additionally there is a carpark within Kalateenee State Forest: from the South Kempsey interchange, turn into Scrubby Creek Road, then follow the blue signs to Kalateenee MTB trails.
A variety of trail options are available including XC and Gravity trails. Recent reconstruction of gravity trails has seen new features and more jumps, which have increased the popularity of this trail network. All levels of rider abilities are catered for, from beginner to advanced. Most trails are also suitable for adaptive bikes.
In addition to the trail-head signs at the local golf club, carpark and '5-ways', trail signs are installed throughout the trail network to assist with navigation. Signage includes trail distances and difficulty ratings based on IMBA standards.
