Wingello State Forest
Facilities
Wingello State Forest is a popular forest with visitors, from families to mountain bike riders.
Like many forests in the southern highlands, Wingello is a mix of pine plantation and hardwood forest with beautiful stands of peppermint, manna gum and stringybarks.
The first radiata pines were planted in this area in Belanglo State Forest in 1919. Today, there are around 3,500 hectares of commercial pine plantations in the southern highlands, with their timber being processed at a local mill.
