Review updated plan
Review the updated Forest Management Plan for Cypress and inland hardwood forests and Cumberland State Forest.
Forest Management Plans detail our commitment to planning, monitoring and continually improving forest management, and summarise our activities as well as the systems, processes and procedures we maintain that ensure we continue to manage forests sustainably in line with the Commonwealth and State Government policies and regulations and the Australian Standard for Sustainable Forest Management – Responsible Wood.
The overarching Forest Management Plan for State forests in NSW was reviewed and updated in 2022 following a period of public consultation and incorporates specific sections for softwood plantations and coastal hardwood forests.
We are now seeking feedback on updated plans for Cypress and inland hardwood forests and Cumberland State Forest, which will be incorporated as parts four and five of the Forest Management Plan. Minor changes to numbering and formatting will be made to Parts one to three of the Forest Management Plan to incorporate the additional content.
Combining the Forest Management Plans for the various regions and forest types managed by Forestry Corporation of NSW streamlines the management activities and intentions common to all State forests, while still providing management guidance for these different forests and forest types.
We invite communities and stakeholders to review these plans and welcome their input and feedback on plans for Inland and Cypress hardwood forests and Cumberland State Forest. The plans will be on display until Friday 17 May 2024.
