Welcome to our coastal operational map.
We developed this map to provide the community with information and updates on native forest harvesting operations being carried out under coastal integrated forestry operations approvals (CIFOA).
The map is updated weekly, providing near real-time information on sustainable timber harvesting operations. The map:
Please note that while this map does show State forests throughout NSW, operational details are only shown for current and recently completed CIFOA forest operations. Read the tips at the bottom of this page to help you get the most out of this resource.
Each forest operation is carefully planned over the course of many months, or indeed years, before an operational plan is approved and forestry operations can start.
Even after operational plans are approved, many more ecological surveys are conducted by our field ecologists through the operational area.
This means we can identify and map features of significance, so our harvesting crews can manage and protect them during operations.
These features are shown on the below map, which is constantly being updated to reflect best available knowledge.
