Paddys River Dam Campground reopens after extensive bushfire impact
Paddys River Dam Campground in Bago State Forest is now reopened to public visitors, following major infrastructure and road repairs.
The forest was burnt extensively in the Dunns Road bushfire earlier this year.
Visitors are welcome, but asked to be mindful of ongoing work in the area, said Forestry Corporation’s Acting Sales & Production Manager, Billie-Jo Brown.
“There is ongoing roadwork, timber harvesting and haulage operations in the area, so visitors need to be aware and follow any signs,” Ms Brown said.
“We thank the public for their ongoing patience and understanding as we continue on with our fire recovery program."
Access to Paddys River Campground is via Elliott Way to Bago PowerLine Road, to Ash Creek Road to Bullongra to Hardys to JDX to Houlihans Track.
Alternate access is also via Dog Tree Road to Bannons Road to Hardys to JDX to Houlihans Track.
Please note that there is no access from the western entrance of Back Creek Road as it runs through burnt pine plantation that is closed to the public.
Visitors should check the Forestry Corporation website www.forestrycorporation.com.au for any closures or notices before setting out for a trip to a State forest.
