Cumberland State Forest closed tomorrow due to catastrophic fire danger for Greater Sydney
West Pennant Hills’ Cumberland State Forest will be closed on Tuesday 12 November due to fire danger.
The forest is included in a list of State forest closures across NSW as the state faces catastrophic fire conditions in many regions.
Cumberland State Forest Manager Tim Liston is asking visitors to stay out of the forest for their safety and to reduce the fire risk.
“The closure applies to vehicles as well as people entering the forest on foot for activities like dog walking,” Mr Liston said.
The closure also means businesses that operate in the forest would also be closed on Tuesday.
“The Treetop Adventure Park, Plants Plus nursery and CafĂ© Saligna in Cumberland State Forest will also be closed on Tuesday.
“There are a number of other State forests closed in the state so all State forest visitors must check the Rural Fire Service and Forestry Corporation websites before making any travel plans.”
