Paddy’s River Dam closed due to vandalism
Paddy’s River Dam in Bago State Forest is temporarily closed to allow remediation after recent vandalism attacks. Police are investigating the issue.
Forestry Corporation of NSW Partnerships Leader, Brendan Grimson, said that remediation of the popular site will take some time due to the sensitive alpine location.
“There is severe damage to the dam and roads nearby, which is concerning due to the sensitivity of the environment,” Mr Grimson said.
“We expect that it will take some time to repair the damage and thank visitors in advance for their patience.”
Visitors affected by this temporary closure can visit one of the other many free camping areas on State forests, such as Blowering Dam Foreshore (Bago State Forest) or Mannus Lake Camping area (Mannus State Forest).
Forestry Corporation manages around two million hectares of native forests for recreation, sustainable timber production and biodiversity. Over three million visitors visit state forests each year.
