Baradine groups are better resourced to support the community thanks to a series of Forestry Corporation of NSW small grants.

The small grants targeted Baradine organisations providing community-based services in aged care, youth and sport.

Forestry Corporation District Manager, Conan Rossler, said the grants are a part of the organisation’s footprint in regional NSW.

“Our staff live and work in towns like Baradine so we want to improve our community,” Mr Rossler said.

“We looked closely at where our local priorities are and decided to support Baradine Sports, Living Well Together and Baradine Aged Care.

“It was my privilege to present each of these organisations with a $500 grant to help extend the great work they do.”

Living Well Together program manager, Veronica Taylor, said the funding will help the town’s young people.

“Our program supports our young people aged 12-24 years to move into the workforce,” Ms Taylor said

“We help them get out there and get jobs. The whole idea to give them what they need to enter the workforce, whether it be a driver’s licence, certificate or knowledge and awareness.

“We’ve had great success with the program, with kids getting jobs locally and away. Every bit of funding helps, and we appreciate the support of Forestry Corp.”
