The corporation was created on 1 January 2013 through enactment of the Forestry Act 2012. This report also includes the six months of operations as the Forestry Commission of NSW, trading as Forests NSW. During that time the organisation was accountable to the Director General of the Department of Primary Industries and the Minister for Primary Industries, the Hon. Katrina Hodgkinson, MP.
