Visitor facilities were enhanced and iconic new sites opened. New facilities completed during the year included the award-winning Guulabaa Place of Koala in Cowarra State Forest, Bago State Forest precinct and Mogo Trails and Mogo State Forest.
Repairs continued to flood-damaged infrastructure. Under the Forest Infrastructure Repair Program, 41 major bridges have been replaced, 24 major landslips repaired, 2,650 kilometres of roads and 110 crossings have been repaired.
Fire preparedness was enhanced with the rollout of public safety network radios, trials of AI-powered smoke detection cameras and continuation of our Fire, Country, People program in partnership with local Aboriginal communities.
Post-fire replanting is continuing to restock softwood plantations. Softwood seedlings are of the highest quality and our replanting program is regrowing timber plantations for future homes and infrastructure.
Environmental monitoring programs continued throughout State Forests, and a seed collection program to safeguard ash species from future fire entered its second year.
Investigations into potential renewable energy projects continued with installation of meteorological masts for wind monitoring.
