The Bluff Picnic Area, a further 1.4 km down the river, is a lovely secluded spot perfect for couples or small groups.
Follow Hastings Forest Way, entry via Cobrabald Road from the Five Ways junction.
The Bluff picnic area contains a number of secluded picnic and barbecue spots, with a vast rock formation covered in grass trees on the opposite side of the river.
