Feller buncher

A feller buncher is a vehicle with tracks which rotates like an excavator and moves through the forest felling and bunching trees into a clear area. These trees are later collected by a forwarder or a skidder. It has an arm with an attachment containing a chainsaw. This attachment grabs hold of the tree around the base, cuts the tree, and places it in a bunch. These machines range in size and shape for use in different environmental conditions. These conditions may include the slope of the land and the size of the tree being felled.
