Ourimbah State Forest is located at the southern end of the Watagan mountain range, and is just west of Wyong on the NSW Central Coast. Ourimbah State Forest is part of the adventure tourism 'forest playground' of the area.

Ourimbah State Forest is one of the State Forests of the Watagan Mountains, which entered the Hunter Central Coast Tourism Hall of Fame after receiving a Gold award in the adventure tourism category of the Hunter Central Coast Tourism Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The State Forests of the Watagan Mountains won the silver award for adventure tourism at the NSW Tourism Awards 2013 and are listed as finalists for the 2014 NSW Tourism Awards.

Forests in this part of NSW have been harvested for timber for many decades, in excess of 100 years.

These forests are regrowth forests, which means they have been harvested many times over and grown back. Today's forest management practices protect biodiversity, soil and water quality and cultural heritage sites while also allowing for sustainable timber production.
